What you can expect from a Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth ages 10-14

 Family Meal  
 
Every sesssion begins with a family
 
meal.  The simple act of sitting down
 
to eat together can be a great start in
 
strengthening family bonds.
Childcare 
 
Bring the whole family! Childcare is provided for younger siblings (9 and under) who are not old enough to participate in the program.
Parent/Caregiver Session 
Parent sessions consist of presentations, role-plays, group discusssions, and other skill-building activities.  Topics include setting appropriate limits, encouraging good behavior, using effective  consequences, protecting against risks, and sharing expectations.
 Youth Session 
 
Youth sessions engage each youth in small and large group discussions, group skill practice, and social bonding activities.  Topics include setting and reaching goals, appreciating parents, managing stress, following rules, and resisting peer pressure.
 Family Session 
 
Family sessions use specially designed games and projects to increase family bonding, build positive communication skills, and facilitate learning to solve problems together.  Topics include supporting goals and dreams, appreciating family members, using family meetings, and sharing family values.
Free & Fun!
 
SFP 10-14 is currently provided at no cost to participants and gives your family a great opportunity to have fun together while building on your strengths and developing skills that can help your family for years to come!
